Spartan Captain Bjorn Schuepbach decides on Connecticut College
Exeter, NH — Bjorn Schuepbach, a two year Seacoast Spartan, and team captain, has committed to Connecticut College, for the fall of 2021. The 5′ 8″ defenseman and Colorado native ended his junior career with 19 goals and 24 assists, in 72 games. He has had much college interest during his time in Exeter and he is thrilled to reach his goal of playing in the NESCAC Conference.
Schuepbach had some things to say about his experience with the Spartans: “I want to thank Coach Tryder personally for all the help, support, and trust throughout my two years playing for the Seacoast Spartans. I’ve never met a coach who cares more for his players than Coach Tryder, he has committed his life to the sport and connecting with every player that comes across his path. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at this organization; I have learned and grown so much from my time with the Spartans. I also want to thank my family and teammates for all their support and dedication.”
Head Coach Brett Tryder had some words on Schuepbach’s commitment: “It has been a pleasure to have Bjorn with us for two years. He works hard everyday and constantly looks to improve his game. It is great when a player that works so hard, is able to reach his goals. Schuep was great for us in all situations and has set the standard of the culture that we strive for at Seacoast. His game is really suited for the NESCAC Conference and I have no doubt that he will continue his success at the college level. I am looking forward to seeing him play at Conn College and following his career.”
Schuepbach added, “I am incredibly privileged and excited to continue my hockey career and further my education this fall at Connecticut College. I’m grateful for the opportunity to play for Coach Ward and Coach Giordano, and look forward to the upcoming season.”
